Montana GOLD

"You satisfy the hungry heart with gifts of finest wheat..."

Golden Waves of Grain.
Begin with a lush Montana wheat field, ripe for harvest...  Imagine a Big Blue Sky...
Vast, wide open prairies of wheat fields, ebbing and flowing, whispering in the rushing wind.
Rich, gold silk fabric is center stage. Free motion couching with a turquoise yarn in a feather motif, further accented with additional free motion quilted swirls in golden yellow threads. Intricate quilting changes just like the landscape of the wind-swept plains, found in varying textures of pebbles, flowing lines and swirls.
These patterns are not computerized. They are creative images from memories of my life growing up on the Montana prairie... seeing wind play in the ripening wheat fields. With my palette of fabric and threads, each motif is hand drawn, not with paper and pencil, but with stitch and needle...  a labor of love... just as the farmer with the plow.

The silk center fabric is surrounded with a border of a gorgeous batik fabric that also ebbs and flows with the same deep, golden tones of the silk, with the added luminosity of turquoise. A hand-dyed yarn is couched onto the binding edge, to further frame this piece and bring it to it's final harvest... a satisfying finish that adds  depth of contrast enhancing the complete piece.

The back is quilted with the same batik fabric that is the  border on the front. It's stunning in and of itself.
14" wide and 46" long. Reversible.
 SOLI DEO GLORIA.
Thank you Lord Our Father for the gifts you present to us daily.
Amen!
