From My Sketchbook ~ Narnia

The first Sunday of Advent approaches.  Our little country Church has chosen the theme for this Sunday: Hope.
If you have never seen the Narnia Chronicles in the movies, or read the books, I hope you will!  They are sweet, engaging, and incredibly creative!
And full of hope.
This is the theme of the message I am preparing, & giving this Sunday...
Perhaps you only know Jesus as a baby in the manger...
But I pray you will know Him, more ~
as the God of Hope
The One who is Savior.
Because that is really what Advent is about.  He came down from Heaven, born as a babe in the manger,
so we could know Him better.
That would be better ~ as in forever... and ever.
Because that is what is meant by Life Everlasting.
Be born twice ~ you die once.
Be born only once, and you will die twice.

My Sketchbook ~ Flowers from Color

Hello there ~

Here's just another sketch of just color doodlin with watercolors I wanted to share today.  With this particular sketch, I laid down the color because... well, because it was just plain fun ~ that's all!  And then, a few weeks later, I thought I should challenge myself to see... if I could 'see flowers' within each of those colors...

What do YOU see?  {my mom saw a mouse ~ lol}

All you need is color.  Imagination.  And a Pen! {or several, that is!}  Of course, I used my black Pitt pen, and the Bic Wite-Out pen, too...

Go on!

Do it!!

Sketchbook ~ Poppies

The poppies are now long gone... but I couldn't help but think of them as I flooded my journal page with bright, bold colors.

I have always loved orange and hot pink together.

How about you?  Do you have a favorite combo?

Blessings on your FRIDAY!  Yay! And one of my favorite things about Fridays is the "In the Studio" with Studio JRU and friends.  Hooray!

Sketchbook ~ No Limits

Lately I have spoken about the photo technology and convenience of having {and loving to use} an iPhone, which I have had now for two months.  This is my very own first 'smart phone' and I'm really enjoying it and one of the things I'm {finally} grasping, is how I can take pictures instantly and conveniently of things that inspire me.

So here's a sampling of some of those very things!  From two super cute and very quaint little home stores we visited this past summer as were shopping on a stormy morning at the lake, in the town of Polson this past summer.
Isn't this bench adorable?!  Love that picket fence back.  And the piece below?!  How stinkin' charming is this?  And how easy!  Got a broken chair?  Well, here ya go... don't even need a pattern... or instructions!  {every man's dream}, my hubby should love to make one, right?!
and I saw this phrase on the plaque shown below and thought how fun it would be to journal this into my sketchbook:

So let it be said, and let it be done!   I love it.

Live Inspired!  Oh... the possibilities!
